GuGuk Terms of Use

1. Overview

The GuGuk Terms of Use ("Agreement") outlines the terms, conditions, notices regarding the processing of personal data, and the regulations on the use of services and products within the GuGuk ecosystem ("Platform"), owned, operated, and managed by Douyu Technology PTE. LTD. ("Service").

1.1. Eligibility: By accessing or using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age. If you are under 18, you are strictly prohibited from registering an account or using the Services. 1.2. To use any service within the GuGuk ecosystem, the User must agree to all the terms and conditions of this Agreement; if the User does not agree to any part of this Agreement, the User must immediately cease using the services. 1.3. By clicking to confirm agreement (e.g., "I Agree", "Sign Up", or "Login"), the User acknowledges that they have read, understood, and committed to comply with all principles and regulations stated in this Agreement. In the case of any conflict between the terms of this Agreement and related regulations, the terms of this Agreement shall prevail. 1.4. To the extent permitted by law, if the User disagrees with any part of this Agreement, we reserve the right to limit, suspend, or cancel the provision of products and services. 1.5. Douyu Technology PTE. LTD. reserves the right to modify, supplement, or change any content of this Agreement at any time. Significant changes will be notified via the Platform.

2. Definitions

  • Company, We, Our: Refers to Douyu Technology PTE. LTD., a company incorporated in Singapore, a party to this Agreement.
  • User/You/Data Subject: Refers to any individual or entity using the Service who is at least 18 years of age.
  • Platform: All products within the GuGuk ecosystem, including the GuGuk mobile application and related software provided by the Company.
  • Account: The necessary data and credentials to log into the Platform.
  • User Content: Text, images, audio, voice recordings, and other materials uploaded or transmitted by the User on the Platform.
  • Personal Data: Information that identifies a specific individual, including basic and sensitive personal data as defined by applicable laws (including but not limited to the PDPA of Singapore).
  • Services: Refers to the diverse services provided through the GuGuk application, including online social gaming, voice chat, user interaction, and entertainment services.

3. Account

3.1. To use the Service, the User must register an Account. The User agrees to provide accurate and complete information, specifically regarding their age. We are not responsible for any issues arising from inaccurate information provided by the User. 3.2. The User is fully responsible for all actions performed through their Account. The Company will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by the User’s failure to secure their account credentials. 3.3. You are responsible for safeguarding the password that you use to access the Service and for any activities or actions under your password. You agree not to disclose your password to any third party.

4. Code of Conduct

Users are strictly prohibited from: 4.1. Copying, modifying, adapting, or creating derivative works based on the Platform without authorization. 4.2. Removing, obscuring, or altering any copyright notices, trademarks, or other proprietary rights notices of the Platform. 4.3. Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disrupting the architecture or content of the Platform. 4.4. Using the Platform to compromise system security, including unauthorized access, spreading malware/viruses, or attacking server infrastructure. 4.5. Accessing the Service through unauthorized third-party software or bots. 4.6. Creating phishing websites or copycat products to deceive other users. 4.7. Using the Platform to publish, transmit, or store content that is illegal, violates public morals, promotes hatred, racial discrimination, terrorism, or infringes on the rights of others. 4.8. Using the Platform to infringe upon the intellectual property or privacy rights of third parties. 4.9. Using the Platform for any unlawful purpose, including harassment, fraud, or disturbing the experience of other users. 4.10. Misrepresenting your age to bypass the age restriction (18+) of the Platform.

5. Collection, Use, and Protection of User Information

By using the Services, the User consents to the processing of their data as follows:

5.1. Data Provided by User:

  • Identity information: Phone number, Name, Age, Gender, Email address, and third-party login credentials (e.g., Google/Facebook).
  • Public Profile: Profile pictures, nicknames, bio descriptions.
  • User Generated Content: Voice messages, text chats, and images uploaded during gameplay or social interaction.

5.2. Data Automatically Collected:

  • Device Information: Device model, OS version, IP address, signal quality, battery level, and unique device identifiers.
  • Activity Data: Login time, usage frequency, interaction history, and crash reports.

5.3. Purpose of Data Processing: We use this data to: i. Provide and operate the Services (account setup, voice connection). ii. Personalize content and recommendations. iii. Research and develop new features. iv. Ensure security, prevent fraud, and verify accounts. v. Communicate with Users regarding support or updates. vi. Comply with legal obligations.

5.4. Data Sharing: We may share data with third-party service providers (e.g., cloud hosting, payment processors) strictly for the purpose of operating the Service. We do not sell personal data to unauthorized third parties.

5.5. Deletion of Data: Users may request the deletion of their account and data directly within the App settings or by contacting customer support.

5.6. Protection of Minors (Zero Tolerance): The Platform is intended solely for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal data from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected the personal data of a child under 18, we will take steps to delete the account and the information as soon as possible. Users are encouraged to report any accounts suspected of belonging to minors to our support team.

6. Exceptions to Consent

We may process data without explicit consent only where permitted by law, such as: 6.1. In emergencies involving the life or health of a person. 6.2. To comply with legal requirements or requests from government authorities. 6.3. For purposes of national security or public order.

7. Information Security

7.1. We employ industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect User data. 7.2. However, the User acknowledges that no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. The User accepts the inherent security risks of using online services.

8. Rights of Data Subjects

In accordance with applicable laws, Users have the right to: 8.1. Withdraw Consent: Stop the processing of their data (which may result in the termination of Services). 8.2. Access & Rectification: Request access to or correction of their personal data stored by the Company. 8.3. Deletion: Request the erasure of their personal data ("Right to be Forgotten"), subject to legal retention requirements. To exercise these rights, Users should contact us at the email provided in Section 11.

9. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in and to the Platform (excluding User Content), including source code, UI design, logos, and software, are the exclusive property of Douyu Technology PTE. LTD. Unauthorized use is strictly prohibited.

10. Usage Notes

10.1. Strict Age Restriction: The Services are explicitly restricted to users aged 18 years or older. By registering, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. Any violation of this rule will result in the immediate and permanent suspension of the Account. 10.2. Users should exercise caution when interacting with strangers. Report suspicious behavior to our support team immediately. 10.3. Users are encouraged to regularly check this page to stay updated on the Terms and Conditions.

12. Violation Handling

If a User violates this Agreement, the Company reserves the right to suspend or ban the User's Account, remove violating content, and pursue legal action for damages incurred.

13. Disclaimer of Warranty

13.1. The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. 13.2. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Douyu Technology PTE. LTD. disclaims all liability for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of the Service.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

14.1. This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore. 14.2. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Agreement shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration in Singapore or the competent courts of Singapore, to the exclusion of all other courts.

15. Effectiveness

15.1. We may update this Agreement from time to time. The latest version will always be available on the Platform. 15.2. If any provision of this Agreement is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force.
